I Can’t Recall the Edges
The overwhelming destruction of the city of Beirut in the aftermath of the civil war gave way to a number of vast and empty plots of land. The city, however, remains an urban space that is still in constant mutation. This series of photographs captures the empty lots located around the city. The empty, neglected space is both at a remove of the city and a part of it. Photographed with expired film rolls, the series speaks to the state of the liminality in which Beirut still finds itself.
